Jenny and Leslie both grew up in Pacific Palisades, California. Although their paths had crossed now and again, little did they know they would begin their friendship over 15 years after high school. Meeting at Malibu Animal Hospital and working side by side for a number of years, and now business partners, they have combined both their skills to make this "idea" into a reality.
Leslie and Jenny's animal health training began here in Malibu at Malibu Animal Hospital under the watchful eye of Dr. Nancy Smith whose teachings and direction gave them the tools to thrive in this field. Unfortunately, after working side by side with Dr. Smith for 11 years, they bid her farewell as Dr. Smith moved out of state to marry. With this, they realized it was also time for them to branch out . . . and Canine Connection was born.
One thing we partners did notice in the years at the hospital was how much pent up energy the kenneled dogs at the hospital had when being boarded for long periods of time. This is really what triggered the idea of a doggie daycare. A place they could run and exercise during the day and return tired and relaxed to their kennel at night. This not only would cut down on continuous barking during the day hours, but it would also make the entire boarding experience less traumatic for the pets.
And so our story begins. We now cater to over 500 happy canines and their clients who utilize our facility for both boarding and daily playcare.
